APPRAISAL NOTICES ARE BEING MAILED APRIL 18, 2022

The Appraisal District is responsible for mass appraisal of real property and business personal property. Appraisal Districts provide a market value for property that the school districts, cities, county, hospital districts use for taxation purposes. The Texas Legislature, through Senate Bill 2 in 2019 determined that Appraisal Districts are no longer required to have the estimated taxes on the Notice of Appraised Value. The reasoning is that the estimates were sometimes inaccurate and caused more confusion. Additionally, Appraisal Districts are not responsible for taxation, only valuation.
